Patient Experience Workshops with Emirates Health Services showcase Northwestern Medicine’s administrative excellence.

​Nanda Bhikhari, director of Engagement at Northwestern Medicine, traveled to Dubai to conduct Patient Experience Workshops with Emirates Health Services, an integrated network of hospitals. The workshops focused on performance improvement, organizational alignment and leadership development as the key tenets for creating a patient experience framework.

Sixty nurse professionals (comprising both clinical nurses and nurse leaders) attended the immersive workshops to define what constitutes the patient’s experience. They discussed cultural competencies and defined leadership goals and roles. After identifying barriers to and opportunities for providing personalized care, the nurses and leaders collaborated to develop action plans that they could implement at their local hospitals.   

Sharing expertise through these workshops highlights Northwestern Medicine’s commitment to excellence and showcases the belief that exceptional patient-centered care is driven by both clinical and administrative excellence.  Northwestern Medicine continually conducts this kind of training throughout the health system to maintain internal quality. Workshops can also be offered to partners virtually or in person around the world, either as stand-alone seminars or in tandem with programs on such topics as physician and employee engagement, quality and performance improvement, and leadership development.
