Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine
Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine’s faculty of nearly 4,000 includes some of the best minds and hearts in medicine and research, and each year more than 2,500 medical and graduate students, physician assistants, residents and fellows receive their education and training here. Each physician on staff at Northwestern Memorial carries a research or academic appointment at Feinberg.

Feinberg is in the Top 25 among all medical schools for National Institutes of Health funding, the largest source of funding for medical research in the world.

At Feinberg, researchers and educators alike are inspired to see things in new ways and develop new approaches that lead to better care for patients.

A culture of collaboration and an entrepreneurial spirit enables our scientists to achieve breakthrough discoveries that effectively treat and prevent disease. Partnerships on the university’s main campus in Evanston and the medical campus in Chicago have led Northwestern to become a pioneer in technologies that are changing modern medicine. We use the full spectrum of biomedical research to better understand the causes of disease and researchers conduct clinical trials to study the effectiveness of drugs, devices and new procedures. Our scientists work together across disciplines and laboratories to bring ideas from the lab to trials, and ultimately to the patient’s bedside.
