Cancer Care Services
Cancer. A word no one likes to hear and a diagnosis no one wants to receive. At Northwestern Medicine, we understand that caring for patients with cancer means caring for the whole patient--body, mind and spirit. In partnership with the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University, a National Cancer Institute designated comprehensive cancer center, we provide the best possible care to patients, their families and caregivers. At Northwestern Medicine, we put our patients first in an effort to deliver the best cancer care. We provide state-of-the art therapies and comprehensive cancer care to patients in two modern outpatient clinical cancer center locations. Our outpatient Clinical Cancer Center offers leading edge medical, surgical and radiation oncology treatment options, as well as access to specialized research, clinical trials and diagnostic services. Maggie Daley Center for Women’s Cancer Care in Prentice Women’s Hospital allows the Lurie Cancer Center to take a comprehensive approach to meeting the unique medical, emotional, genetic and cosmetic needs of women with gynecologic and breast cancers. Both locations are supported by on-site pharmacy and lab services, as well as a comprehensive nutrition and Supportive Oncology Program. All Lurie Cancer Center physicians are full-time faculty of Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, applying the knowledge and experience gained from clinical research and education to their practices at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. The Lurie Cancer Center is typically involved in more than 300 clinical trials at a given time, covering a broad range of subjects. The Lurie Cancer Center is also a founding member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network, which is an alliance of 26 of the country’s leading cancer centers. This network is dedicated to enhancing cancer care by developing clinical practice guidelines that are updated each year to help patients understand treatment recommendations.
